hey man I think the same thing just happend to my bike...barely ran then got to the point where it wouldn't run at all, so I yanked the motor, oops!!!that took a lot of time and work when all I really had to do was pull of the side of the case. My chain had worn and stretched so bad that my tensioner had overextended allowing the chain to fully relax spinning on my bottom timing gear. It is only gonna cost me about 150 bucks for a new chain and head gasket. Tear off that side cover and take a look, drain your oil first or you'll make a mess. I used a magnetic screwdriver to dig around in there and found an E-clip and a lil' spring, perhaps you'll find the same good luck.
